The Show-Me State Adult Immunization coalition is a coalition of public/private individuals and groups concerned with community health and awareness. Our goal is to reduce the incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases in adults. All members have special interests and/or expertise in immunizations and community health. The Coalition provides an ongoing forum for the coordination of immunization efforts and sensible resource planning that is sensitive to cultural, ethnic and community needs.
Objectives
- Increase awareness of vaccine-preventable diseases among consumers and healthcare providers.
- Identify barriers that impede adult immunization.
- Develop strategies that promote implementation of best practices.
- Identify and evaluate established education programs and coordinate with these programs when and where feasible.
- Identify gaps in education and coordinate the development of education tools and programs.
- Improve health outcomes for Missouri 's adults.
